“Show Me The Money 6” Confirms All Four Producer Teams!

Guess what TV show’s coming back soon?

The famous Korean rap survival show “Show Me The Money” is gearing up for their sixth season to air in just a few months! Luckily, fans don’t have to wait any more to find out who will be part of the four producer teams! MNET, the broadcasting channel, has already confirmed all four teams and I promise it’s not going to disappoint!

The first team confirmed is team Zico-Dean, we all know how close these two are especially since their formed the group Fanxychild. Unlike Zico who has already been a producer on the show (back in 2015 during SMTM’s season 4 alongside Paloalto), I’m excited to see how Dean will do since it’s his first year.

The second team confirmed is team Tiger JK-Bizzy, two legendary Korean rappers who have been in the game for multiple years now. They’re both signed to the label Jungle Entertainment and they’re part of the hip hop group MFBTY alongside Tiger JK‘s wife Yoon Mirae. They’re also part of a huge crew reuniting a lot of Korean rappers called The Movement Crew. This is their first year but I’m sure these two will bring a lot to the show especially since they have a lot experience.

The third team confirmed is team Dynamic Duo, another legendary hip hop duo who have been active since 2004. They’re under Amoeba Culture and just like Tiger JK and Bizzy, they’re also part of The Movement Crew. This is Dynamic Duo‘s first year as well but just like Tiger JK and Bizzy we can expect a lot!!

The fourth and last team that has been confirmed is team Dok2-Jay Park! The only producer team to have two members coming back on the show! As you probably all know, Dok2 is hip hop label 1LLIONAIRE‘s CEO alongside The Quiett while Jay Park is hip hop label AOMG‘s CEO. Both have been friends and collaborating together since Jay Park went solo, almost 7 years ago. Jay Park was on the show at the same time as Zico while this will be Dok2‘s third year, being on season 3 and 5. Another team with a lot of experience both in hip hop and on the show!

The auditions for “Show Me The Money 6” closed yesterday, April 16th, and were held in both Korea and New York as well as Los Angeles. As of right now, there’s been no specific dates announced as to when the show will air, just that it is set for mid 2017.

Make sure to stay tuned for more updates! What do you think of the producer line up?

Happy 2 Year Anniversary to The Ark!

On April 10, 2015, a group of 5 girls set out to make an impact in the K-pop industry—strong and fierce in everything they did, they easily impressed fans with their cool aura. From doing dance covers of EXO‘s “Call Me Baby” and BTS‘ “Boy in Luv” to covering popular songs, they gained attention for their unique image and made their way for debut. These girls consisted of Jeon Minju, Kim Euna (Yuna), Yujin, Lee Suji (Halla), and Jane. The strong hip-hop girl group made their mark that day with their debut song, “The Light”—this powerful girl group was known as The Ark.

To pay tribute to the victims of the Sewol Ferry incident, The Ark dedicated the music video for “The Light” with a similar storyline, showing a mother losing her daughter in a bus accident. The music video covered the significance of treasuring loved ones and not taking the cherished time for granted.

The Ark were one of a kind, pushing forth a strong hip-hop concept that’s rarely found amongst girl groups. Together they began their promotions with their debut single, performing often at the Han River for dance covers specially prepared by themselves. Some of these dance covers include EXO‘s “Call Me Baby” and “Overdose”, as well as BTS‘ “Boy in Luv”. So much attention was brought to their phenomenal covers that even BTS reacted to their “Boy in Luv” dance cover.

However, as time went on, one of their vocalists, Yujin, had to take time off to undergo treatment for vocal chord nodules. Eventually, the girl group was confirmed to be disbanded in 2016 by their former company, Music K Entertainment, after a long hiatus.

Even to this day, fans follow the members of The Ark in their pursuit of activities after the disbandment, giving support for the girls to continue their dreams. Recently, Jeon Minju participated in KPOPSTAR’s last season, making it to the final 10; Euna Kim participated in the third season of Unpretty Rapstar, gaining recognition for her profound rapping; Suji and Jane became a part of The Real Girls Project: The iDOLM@STER. Check out the playlist of some our favorite performances by the members.

When asked about a reunion for The Ark members, Euna and the girls expressed that they’d like for one to happen. Despite being busy in separate activities, the girls still find time to keep in contact with another.

For honoring the 2nd anniversary of The Ark‘s debut and their strong presence in the K-pop world, let’s hope for a reunion to happen soon!

Gaeko and Rap Monster Come Together for “Elephant”

Although Rap Monster had already hinted about this since last month, it wasn’t until last night when we could see and hear both rappers in a collaboration.

Elephant” or “Gajah“(고끼리) presents a psychedelic animation that left more than one person questioning what was going on, and some even got creeped by the strange design of the characters and scenes.

People eating themselves, people losing their teeth and a dancing hand is just part of what this song brings to us.

Don’t miss this interesting collaboration, and show lots of support to both rappers on 1theK YouTube Channel
