Fans have been impatiently waiting for months as rumors of EXO’s comeback filtered through their news feeds. After months of speculation, the nine-member boy group from SM Entertainment has finally released a brief teaser on their social media channels. The teaser is a short animated video of a speedometer that revs into the “E X O” range before the needle falls back down.
The concept and timeline for the comeback have not yet been specified. It is unclear if this will be a full group comeback for EXO – Lay, who promotes vigorously in China, is currently preparing a U.S. debut album that is set to be released on October 5, 2018 with all tracks in English and Mandarin. The group last made a musical comeback with the Japanese album “Countdown” in January of 2018, where the album peaked at number one on the Oricon chart. The group’s last Korean comeback was in December of 2017 with the well-received EP “Universe” which featured slower, soulful and melancholy tracks with eight of the members. The group has been busy with performances and individual schedules, including drama appearances and collaboration singles under SM’s Station platform.
