This has definitely been the year of BTS!
From the release of the hit track DNA, the group’s popularity went uphill not only in Korea but all over the world. The international public has acknowledged the lyrics full of positive messages about self love and dreams coming true.
With the United Nations being one of those who noticed, gave the one of the biggest privileges there can be, they named the group as Advocates for the youth.
This week, the group made history by delivering their first speech in front of the world leaders at the New York United Nations Headquarters talking about youth and self love, main topics of BTS discography, and focusing on feeling comfortable on our own skin and identity.
The most memorable excerpt from the speech were the words: “No matter who you are, where you are from, your skin colour, your gender identity – Just speak yourself. Find your name and find your voice by speaking yourself.” Bringing a whole new perspective on young people not only finding themselves but also using that as a way to inspire others into doing the same. Besides of using Namjoon and the members own personal stories of success and self love, making the topic a more relatable and personal.
The whole speech is inspiring and powerful, and you can find it on YouTube.
We feel so proud of the group and cheer every milestone they reach. And we hope to keep seeing them reaching new heights in their careers.
